Sometimes, support person do everything but give you support… However, a good Google Support (and even more your own Google Rep) can make the difference between failure and success.
Some people keep forgetting that your Google Support is only human, so please don’t try your best to destroy his/her day. It doesn’t pay off… Whenever you need help from Google Support be nice, honest and informative as much as possible. Keep your writing short, exact and positive and try to offer them any information they ask you for.
Keep in mind that if they are polite enough to ask you for some information, it doesn’t say that they don’t have it already in front of them… I had once a long phone call with one of my Reps and it started with him telling me that he doesn’t really have access to my AdWords history, just to tell me later that he think i made a great job in my former campaigns and that he was impressed with the level of details i have reached in my keyword research… Play the game, be friendly and honest and let them help you with your problems. You will be amazed how much value could your Google Rep offer your business if you set up a relationship with him.
And what if you don’t have a Google Rep but need to use the regular AdWords Support. Same rules apply here! Some of the guys that work at the Support could have been your fellow coworkers if the dices were different, so act them as such. Keep yourself from getting mad if the answers frustrates you. Ask them again and stay exact, honest and informative as much as possible. Ask them to reconsider their last reply and be positive, who knows…
The bottom-line is that if you need some support it is up to them to help you. Try your best to motivate them and miracles could happen. Sometimes.
Interacting with your Google Support,
